As you will certainly notice, I take my thumb and my index finger and press them together and hold it in a position. The point is to hold your thumb and your index finger, your thumb and your little finger, and your thumb and your middle finger. As you will notice, I press it into the flesh of my thumb and index finger.
You might not be able to get this exercise in with a pair of metal pliers, but you can probably get the idea.
I’m not sure what the benefits are, but you can probably do it with just your fingers. You’re basically putting your thumb and your index finger on your palm. Some people find it more comfortable to do it with their fingers and a lot of people find it more comfortable to do it with their thumbs. Either way, you can do it.
It is a simple exercise, albeit one that has been done for a very long time by many people. Its benefits are numerous, not least of which is the fact that it gets your body into a neutral state, which is excellent for working out.

I know it seems counter-intuitive, but I can’t imagine doing sit on my thumb without also doing sit on my hands. It’s probably just me, but I find it hard to do sit on my thumb with my left hand.

But I don’t think hockey is a sport I need to practice. Just like if I were to go into the kitchen and start to cook, then I’d have to do some dishes too. But that’s not why I enjoy doing sit on my thumb.
