To get myself started, I just take about 15-30 minutes to do a simple breathing exercise called “goderj” (pronounced “godeerj”). The exercise involves taking a deep breath and letting it out in a controlled manner. Doing this will create a calming, relaxing effect on the body, and it will also make it difficult for us to feel the anger and stress we feel after our stressful life activities.
Now that I think about it, it’s true what they say about a little bit of meditation making us less angry. And I think that meditation is a great tool to take with us as we deal with the stresses of life.
The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
