It has been a while since I’ve been on a trip with a group, but my friend, Kim, and I decided to take a trip to Thailand and Vietnam. We all decided to take our bikes and go on a tour of the country. We left for Vietnam in October and came back in the spring.

In Vietnam the bikes were more or less a novelty, but in Thailand it was a bit more serious, and you had to take your bike on a boat on the Mekong River. The boat journey was very scenic and the bikes were not that bad to ride, plus there were no bikes on the boat. We rode mostly on the bike paths, which were very nice and scenic.

When we came back to the States we took a lot of photos from the bike paths, but we also took a lot of pictures from the boats. What seemed to be a lot of the time we took pictures from the boat was when the boat wasn’t moving at all, and you could take your bike from one boat to the next for a bit of a hike.

We took our bike from one boat to the next and then from the next boat back to the boat. We did this a couple times, and we got to ride from boat to boat so many times that we thought we would give up when we got to the boat.

It was the craziest thing. A lot of our bikes were left out in the water. Some were on the beach, and some were down on the water. We were like, “Yeah, that’s perfect.” Like, we were like, “Okay, let’s do this.” And we went from the boat to the boat, and then from the boat to the ferry, and then from there back to the boat.

It was a great way to get from one boat to the next boat and then back again. It was really fun, and so much more relaxing than riding the bike, I was like, “Whoa.
